Leaders Causing Leaders - LEADERShift 2010

Landmark, Mraz and Covey: Featured Keynote Speakers at Leadership Conference, November 06, 2010

Empowering people to make a difference is the theme of Leaders Causing Leaders – LEADERShift 2010, set for Nov. 6-7 at Long Beach Convention Center and featuring personal growth pioneers, workshops, youth and teen events, live music and more.

The new conference will showcase more than 100 luminaries from the fields of business, art, science, spirituality, human rights and environmental studies, including Grammy Award-winning musical artist Jason Mraz, Landmark Forum Leader Richard Condon, and Steven Covey, Jr., author of "The SPEED of Trust: The One Thing that Changes Everything."

Leaders Causing Leaders – LEADERShift 2010 was conceived by Kenneth Schwenker. “People want to make a positive impact on the world, and this event is an amazing opportunity to learn from some of the incredible leaders who have successfully made their mark,” Schwenker says.

Schwenker created the project in leadership courses of Landmark Education, a personal and professional growth, training and development company that has inspired more than 1.2 million people. In a 2008 study, Marketdata Enterprises reported, “with (Landmark’s) unique position in the self-development market, many top experts in the personal development and coaching industries got their start by participating in Landmark’s programmes. Landmark is recognized for having one of the best faculty bodies in the business.”

The conference includes Designing Your Vision for the World, a series of four interactive workshops allowing participants to create new narratives for their lives and visionary world service projects based on harmony, sustainability and leadership. Dynamic presentations and discussion will be led by luminaries such as Ishmael Baeh (author of bestselling "A Long Way Gone"), Mark Victor Hansen ("Chicken Soup for the Soul"), Joie de Vivre CEO Chip Conley, motivational coach Byron Katie, angel investor Randy Haykin, National Development Council Chairman Sam Beard, third-generation yogi Guru Singh and Inka shaman Juan Ruiz. A Saturday evening music festival will include live performances from Donna De Lory, Larisa Stow and other special guests.

Youth ages 7 to 13 are invited to engage in the Youth Leadership programme, a creative laboratory with workshops from the founders of Challenge Day, an organisation that “demonstrates the possibility of love and connection through celebrating diversity, truth and full expression.”

Additional workshops include open collaborations for speeding the pace of change, conscious money, human rights, women in sustainable business, and social entrepreneurship, among dozens of others. Participants who register in advance will have the opportunity to be awarded a year of mentorship from Leaders Causing Leaders’ expert panel.
